The Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network (JCOIN) re-envisions how the justice system responds to addiction. The JCOIN Coordination and Translation Center (CTC) (PI: Faye Taxman, Ph.D., George Mason University) supports this crucial initiative through engaging with key stakeholders, disseminating products and findings, and providing infrastructure.

JCOIN is funded through the Helping to End Addiction Long-term℠ Initiative, or NIH HEAL Initiative℠. The NIH HEAL Initiative℠ is an aggressive, trans-NIH effort to speed scientific solutions to the national opioid health crisis. Launched in April 2018, the initiative is focused on improving prevention and treatment strategies for opioid misuse and addiction and enhancing pain management.
