Call for Proposals: AJA-NCCHC Virtual Conference February 2027

The American Jail Association (AJA) and National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) are now accepting proposals for the February 2027 virtual conference. The deadline to submit is September 30, 2026.

This year’s theme is “One System, One Team: Aligning Care, Custody and Outcomes,” which recognizes the importance of cross-system coordination between health care and custody professionals to improve care, safety, efficiency, and outcomes.

Successful proposals will bring together perspectives from health care, behavioral health, custody, administration and other disciplines and provide concrete strategies for improving collaboration and outcomes.

AJA and NCCHC are particularly interested in proposals that:

  • Showcase successful collaboration between custody and health care
  • Address real-world operational challenges and solutions
  • Provide tools, templates, protocols, checklists or other resources attendees can use
  • Include case studies, examples and lessons learned from implementation
  • Demonstrate measurable improvements in care, safety, efficiency or other outcomes
  • Engage attendees through case discussions, scenarios, polling or other interactive approaches
