Connecting Critical Health Service Providers to Geospatial Data (JCOIN 210)

Study Information

This MAARC activity aims to improve the delivery of geospatial and related data to address real-world needs of staff in critical health services agencies to respond to the ongoing overdose crisis. Through focus groups with staff in community-based service settings, we will work to discern individual, organizational, & community barriers and facilitators to service access among people who use drugs (PWUD) in urban, suburban, and rural regions, as well as lay the groundwork for developing a web mapping application to access critical information for participants. Additional activities will engage JCOIN 2.0 hubs.ย  Human-centered design practices and participatory design principles will be used to develop key facets of a mapping prototype, including the anticipated data model (i.e. common information or types of information to be collected from groups), base map cartography, branding, wire frames, and the user interface of the final web application.
