Cascade of Care | Coordinating Substance Use Disorder Treatment Services for Justice-Involved Individuals
The cascade model has been adapted and proven useful for modeling the treatment needs of justice-involved people with substance use disorder (SUD) and for developing a framework for coordination between justice and behavioral health systems. This course describes the cascade of care model and how it applies to addressing SUD treatment needs.
- Provide an understanding of the cascade of care framework
- Develop the ability to use the cascade of care as a change and implementation planning tool
- Support the assessment of current data availability and gaps
- Support local level data gathering and analysis to support planning
- Support the identification of treatment gaps and planning to address these gaps through a continuous quality improvement process
- Criminal justice and behavioral health professionals who work with justice-involved individuals with histories of SUD and/or COD
- Researchers working with or seeking to work with criminal justice and behavioral health agencies on issues related to SUD
